Swimming at Red Gates

All children in Years 1 to 6 are given the opportunity to swim during the school year. Each class is allocated a term for weekly swimming sessions. Swimming lessons take place at Biggin Hill swimming pool. Staff from your child’s class team also enter the water with the children to support. Swimming lessons are pitched at your child’s individual levels and skills range from developing water confidence to learning stroke techniques.

Horse Riding at Red Gates

All children in Year 6 are given the opportunity to horse ride (some restrictions such as weight do apply). Sessions take place on a Monday and Wednesday morning at Kingsmead Equestrian Centre in Warlingham. Kingsmead provides therapeutic riding for children and adults with disabilities. As part of the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA), the centre aims to provide Red Gates children with the opportunity to ride at the level of their ability to benefit their health and well-being. Sessions are taken at the child's pace and may start by grooming a horse or taking a pony for a walk before gaining the confidence to ride a horse.
